Project 1: Mixed Media

 

Standards: 9.1 A-E; 9.2 C,K,L; 9.3 A-G; 9.4 B,D

Media and Technique students learned about the

Elements of Art (line, shape, form, value, texture,

color, and space) and different types of media

(graphite, Sharpie, chalk pastel, oil pastel, colored

pencil, and charcoal).  They were then asked to

create a non-representational drawing using at

least 4 elements and at least 4 mediums.

Craftsmanship – Image is neat and well presented.  Careful consideration of line, pattern, and shapes.
Use of Media– All various media were used and experimented with.
Creativity – Interesting pattern, shapes, and lines.  Lines and pattern express personality creatively.
Productivity – Efficient use of class time, did not rush through project
Composition – All areas of paper are equally considered.  Forms and color are balanced and move the viewer’s eye through the piece.
