Unit 1.1: Line Series

Project #2 will be a series of contour line drawings.

You will be creating 6 line drawings of an object of your choice. 

To begin, you will practice by drawing 5 different objects drawing each using contour line and continuous line (10 drawings total)

Once the 10 practice drawings are complete, students will choose ONE object to create their series of drawings.  Remember, part of your grading rubric is on CREATIVITY and choosing a challenging object.  The drawings will demonstrate knowledge using the following 6 line styles:

1. Contour Line - focus on the outer edge of the object and and details withing

2. Continuous Contour Line- object drawn using one solid line, without picking up the pencil

3. Blurred Line- object drawn using pastel to give a blurred effect

4. Contour with Tone- drawing the object and showing the value through line (by adding water to ink to lighten the value)

5. Lyrical- object draw using long, flowy brushstrokes with the ink

6. Aggressive- object is drawn by scratching the image into scratch art paper
